Inter Milan have rediscovered their defensive solidity after a shaky start to the season, with seven clean sheets from their last nine matches.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, highlight the Nerazzurri’s now-formidable record at the back.

At the start of this season, Inter’s defensive issues were becoming a real problem.

The Nerazzurri conceded at least two goals in matches against Genoa, AC Milan, Udinese, and Torino.

This was a big drop-off from last season’s title-winning defensive consistency.

Inter Milan Return To Defensive Solidity – 7 Clean Sheets In 9 Matches

Inter Milan did produce some fine defensive displays earlier in the season. Most notably their clean sheet away to Manchester City.

However, the issue was maintaining that level week in and week out. But now, Inter are starting to get it right.

In Inter’s last nine matches, they’ve conceded a goal in just two of them. Which means Inter have kept a clean sheet in seven of these nine.

Notably, this includes a wild 4-4 draw against Juventus. That shows the work the Nerazzurri still have to do.

But clean sheets against Arsenal and RB Leipzig in the Champions League in particular show Inter starting to get back to their best at the back.
