Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi should be fit for his team’s Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the plan is for the 36-year-old to return to full training on Monday ahead of the match.
Acerbi has been recovering from a thigh strain over the last couple weeks.
This is the second thigh injury that the Italian international has picked up since October.
Acerbi suffered the injury during the first fifteen minutes of a Serie A match against Hellas Verona last month. It has seen him miss matches against RB Leipzig, Fiorentina, and Parma.

According to Sky, however, Acerbi is getting closer and closer to returning, though.
The former Lazio and Sassuolo veteran was not able to come back for yesterday’s Serie A match against Parma.
However, Acerbi is putting the finishing touches on his recovery now. He should be back in the squad soon without rushing.
According to Sky, Acerbi is still working individually on a personalized recovery program today.
But tomorrow, the 36-year-old will make a partial return to training with the rest of the squad.
And on Monday, the hope is that Acerbi is able to complete a full session with his teammates.
If that is the case, then Acerbi will be part of the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League showdown with German champions Bayer Leverkusen.
