Former Inter Milan and Napoli forward Goran Pandev believes that Antonio Conte will “do everything” to win the Serie A title.
The former North Macedonian international spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. He also looked back on his video message to former teammate Maicon.
Napoli have been the team to set the pace in the Serie A title race.
After a shock defeat against Hellas Verona on opening day, the Partenopei have been relentless in the league.
Napoli did drop points against Atalanta last month. La Dea look to be one of their main title rivals.
Meanwhile, Conte’s team secured a precious point away to Inter.
It is certainly going to be a long title race. Particularly with Inter looking to have rediscovered some of last season’s imperious form and Atalanta going from strength to strength.
But Conte is certainly a coach who knows how to get the balance right over a gruelling title race. The Italian coach has shown that in the past with Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter.
Ex Inter & Napoli Forward Pandev: “Conte Will Give Everything To Win Serie A Title”
During the week, Napoli bombed out of the Coppa Italia against Lazio. And that is the same team they meet this evening in the league.
But Pandev said that “I expected a very balanced match, different from the meeting in the Coppa Italia.”
“Because both teams made a lot of changes. Particularly Napoli.”
“And Napoli will make eleven changes to the team,” Pandev predicted. “Because they are all-in on focusing on the league.”
“Because they aren’t in Europe, they’ve gone out of the Coppa Italia, and Serie A is all they have left.”
“And as we know, Conte is a coach who wants to win,” Pandev said.
“And his Napoli will try to bring home the Scudetto right to the end.”
Meanwhile, Pandev spoke about his relationship with former Inter teammate Maicon.
“I spent maybe the best moments of my career with Maicon,” he said. “Because when you win everything, the Champions League, you know you’ve reached the highest level.”
“And winning in the Inter shirt was special,” Pandev added.
“Because Inter are the club that brought me to Italy, made me grow.”
“Winning the Treble is something that will always be a part of history, and always remain in my heart,” Pandev said.
