Piot Zielinski, Davide Frattesi, Matteo Darmian, and Carlos Augusto will be among the changes to the Inter Milan starting eleven against Bayer Leverkusen.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They also report that defender Francesco Acerbi is a doubt for the match.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to make some changes to his team tomorrow evening.

The coach is aiming to give a few key players a rest.

Inter’s fixture list is heating up. After tomorrow’s Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen, big matches against Lazio in Serie A and Udinese in the Coppa Italia are on the way.

Therefore, it is little surprise that Inzaghi will not want to burn his squad out.

Zielinski, Frattesi, Darmian & Augusto To Start For Inter Vs Bayer Leverkusen

Perhaps the most eye-catching squad rotation from Inzaghi tomorrow will come in midfield.

Hakan Calhanoglu will keep his place at the base of the central trio, reports the Gazzetta. But lining up alongside him will be Piotr Zielinski and Davide Frattesi in place of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Nicolo Barella.

Meanwhile, on the left flank Federico Dimarco will drop out of the starting eleven. Carlos Augusto will instead start.

And in defense, the Gazzetta, Matteo Darmian will start. He, Stefan de Vrij, and Yann Bisseck should make up the starting back three.

That will give Alessandro Bastoni a chance to take a breather.

Lastly, in attack Mehdi Taremi is set to continue his record of starting every one of Inter’s Champions League matches this season.

It is likelier to be Lautaro Martinez partnering the Iranian in attack than Marcus Thuram.
