Inter Milan center-forward Mehdi Taremi is no stranger to upsetting upcoming UEFA Champions League rivals Bayer Leverkusen.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the Iran international has fond memories of his previous appearances against Die Werkself.

Mehdi Taremi signed with Inter on a free transfer this summer after allowing his contract with Porto to expire.

During his prolific four-year stint at the Estadio do Dragao, the 32-year-old established himself as one of Europe’s deadliest strikers.

In addition to his remarkable scoring exploits in the Primeira Liga, Taremi was relentless on the continental front.

Taremi made 26 Champions League appearances for Porto, scoring ten goals and adding six assists.

Interestingly, two of those ten strikes came against none other than Leverkusen.

Indeed, the Iranian phenom faced the German outfit twice during his career at Porto and walked away victorious both times.

His match-winning performance in a 3-0 win at the BayArena in October 2022 remains Leverkusen’s last home defeat in Europe.

Taremi will likely lead the line tonight alongside Marcus Thuram, seeking only his second goal for Inter.

Hopefully, he can draw on his impressive European record to make a decisive impact against familiar opposition.
