Inter Milan will reportedly take on Udinese in Thursday’s Coppa Italia fixture without star midfielder Nicolo Barella.

According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, Barella will be out of contention for the upcoming cup game after picking up a knock against Lazio.

Furthermore, the 27-year-old superstar will probably skip Inter’s next Serie A game against Como.

There is optimism that he’ll return to action on December 28 when Simone Inzaghi’s men meet Cagliari.

In addition to Barella, Inter could welcome Francesco Acerbi back from injury for their last league game of 2024.

Barella delivered a standout performance at the Stadio Olimpico.

However, he injured himself in the process.

Therefore, he’ll join Benjamin Pavard and Acerbi on the sidelines.

During his absence, Davide Frattesi should regain his place in Inzaghi’s starting XI.

Indeed, the former Sassuolo midfielder deputized for Barella during the latter’s month-long spell on the treatment table in October.

Barella wasn’t the only Inter player to report a fitness problem after returning from Rome.

Federico Dimarco was also on the receiving end of several harsh tackles from frustrated Lazio players.

But he’ll be at Inzaghi’s disposal tomorrow.
