Italian journalist Luca Marchetti expects that Inter Milan are likely to avoid making signings in the January transfer window.
Marchetti reports on Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, that Nerazzurri President Beppe Marotta is telling the truth when he says that the club have no plans of dipping into the market next month.
The January transfer window is just a few days away from opening.
This will give clubs in Serie A the chance to reinforce their squads with a new signing or two.
And Inter have made some notable moves during the January window over the last few seasons.
Perhaps the two most notable arrivals have been Christian Eriksen in 2020 and Robin Gosens in 2022.
Meanwhile, Inter signed Tajon Buchanan from Club Brugge in January of last season.
Marchetti: Inter Milan Unlikely To Make January Signings
However, Nerazzurri President Beppe Marotta stated that he doesn’t expect to make any signings this January.
Inter’s squad is certainly strong as it is. The Nerazzurri have enough squad depth to virtually have two players available in each position on the pitch.
If there is an area where the club could decide that a signing is necessary, it is in defense.
Injuries to the likes of Benjamin Pavard and Francesco Acerbi have limited the options at the back.
Therefore, if the injury crisis is to get worse, the defense could be an area where Inter feel they have little choice but to act.
According to Italian journalist Luca Marchetti, however, that is not the Nerazzurri’s plan.
