Joaquin Correa and Hakan Calhanoglu will not be available for Inter Milan’s forthcoming Serie A away match against Venezia.

According to Sky Sport via FCInter1908, both players will skip Sunday’s fixture at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.

Correa has sustained a muscle injury despite being an unused substitute during Inter’s Supercoppa Italiana duties.

Therefore, he’ll join long-term absentee Francesco Acerbi on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Calhanoglu picked up a minor muscular problem during the Italian Super Cup final against AC Milan.

Indeed, he had to come off already in the first half, which proved a game-defining moment.

Though Inter hoped to have him fit for next weekend’s trip to Venezia, he’ll stay out as a precaution.

Joaquin Correa & Hakan Calhanoglu to Miss Venezia vs Inter Serie A Fixture

Inzaghi is reluctant to take chances with Calhanoglu.

The Turkish midfielder is too valuable to be risked against hot relegation candidates.

However, that doesn’t mean Inter can afford to underestimate Venezia, especially after a dramatic reverse fixture.

Calhanoglu’s absence will probably hand Kristjan Asllani his final chance to convince Inzaghi.

Indeed, Asllani’s dismal performance against Milan has significantly weakened his position at Giuseppe Meazza.

Therefore, he’ll have an added motive to deliver at Pier Luigi Penzo.
