Inter Milan’s total earnings from the Champions League have reached €315 million since Simone Inzaghi took over as coach.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They note that the figure for this season alone is already at €85 million.
Inter have really come into their own in the Champions League under Simone Inzaghi.
In the seasons before the former Lazio coach’s arrival, the Nerazzurri had crashed out of the competition at the group stage.
Luciano Spalletti and then Antonio Conte failed to guide Inter to the round of sixteen for three campaigns in a row.
But under Simone Inzaghi, Inter have gotten to the knockouts four seasons out of four. This time around, they did so directly rather than needing a playoff in the new format.
Inter Champions League Earnings Reach €315M Under Simone Inzaghi
Considering their place in fourth in the “league phase” table as well as the bonus for directly qualifying for the round of sixteen and results bonuses, Inter have already pocketed €85 million from their Champions League participation this season.
If Inter can move onto the quarterfinals, they will add an additional €12.5 million to that figure.

Last season, the Nerazzurri brought in €66 million in total from the Champions League. That followed the relative disappointment of a round of sixteen exit to Atletico Madrid.
Mewanwhile, the 2022-23 season saw Inter get very close to €100 million. That campaign they made a run to the final, only losing to Manchester City – and earned €98 million.
Lastly, in Inzaghi’s first season in charge of Inter, the Nerazzurri earned €65 million from a Champions League campaign that saw them go out to Liverpool in the round of sixteen.
There is indeed no doubt about keeping Inzaghi for a long time. Indeed, there are still many coaches who in terms of tactics, performance assurance and experience are still better than Inzaghi. However, having a coach who accepts the players given by the club without much request but can provide competition in the domestic and European leagues plus bring in a lot of money is the dream of every club owner. This is why there is no coach who can be better than him. You can imagine if Inzaghi managed a club like Real Madrid, Man. City, MU, Bayern or Chelsea with spending funds that wow, maybe Inzaghi could rule Europe.
