Inter Milan will sign Roma wingback Nicola Zalewski, but only if he extends his contract with the Giallorossi first.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They note that a new deal for the 23-year-old would be a precondition for a loan.
Inter are ramping up their pursuit of Roma wingback Nicola Zalewski.
The Pole is a player the Nerazzurri have identified as the right replacement for Tajon Buchanan on the flanks.
Buchanan is set to join Villarreal. The Spanish club will sign the Canadian international for a €1 million loan fee, with a €13 million purchase option.
Therefore, Inter want a like-for-like replacement before the January transfer window closes.
Meanwhile, Zalewski’s age and versatility mean that he has exactly the profile they want.
Inter To Sign Roma Wingback Nicola Zalewski – If He Extends Contract First
Inter’s plan is to sign Zalewski on loan this month.
The Nerazzurri would aim for a similar deal to the one that sees Buchanan making the switch to Villarreal. They want Zalewski on loan until the end of the season, with a purchase option.

That purchase option would be worth around €6-7 million.
However, as things stand, Zalewski’s contract with Roma runs until the end of June.
Therefore, the Polish international can hardly leave on loan.
On the other hand, Tuttosport note, if Nicola Zalewski were to sign a new deal, then he could leave on loan.
Therefore, that will be the decisive factor.
On the other hand, if Roma do not extend Zalewski’s deal by a season and loan him to Inter, the Nerazzurri will be ready to sign him on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign.,

€1M loan with €13M option to buy? Our transfer policy at times can be so mind boggling lol. Buchanan is class, I don’t understand why he can’t fit into Inzaghi’s team. Also I think Zalewski is a good player and would be an Interesting Transfer. On another note, De Pieri looks promising but will he be given a chance in this team remains to be seen. We all know how our coach handles youth
