Wingback Nicola Zalewski is set to join Inter Milan from Roma.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the clubs are ironing out the final details of a loan deal.
In the last few days of the January transfer window, Inter have set their sights on Roma wingback Nicola Zalewski.
The Poland international is the player that the Nerazzurri have lined up to replace Tajon Buchanan. Buchanan has joined Villarreal on loan for the second half of the season.
At 23 years of age, Inter see Zalewski as the right age profile to bolster their squad.
Moreover, the Roma wingback’s versatility is key. Like Buchanan, he can play on either flank, and is comfortable in both the attacking and defensive phases.
Inter To Sign Nicola Zalewski From Roma
Inter have been pushing to sign Zalewski for the past few days now.
Roma had been hoping to offload the 23-year-old once and for all. They had looked close to an agreement with Marseille.

However, Inter’s entrance into the race has changed things. Zalewski wants to stay in Serie A, and his priority is to join the Nerazzurri.
Zalewski will extend his contract with Roma, as his current deal runs out at the end of June.
Then, everything will be in place for the Pole to join Inter.
I don’t think Zalewski is a bad option for depth at wing back… Let’s be honest, DiMarco and Dumfries are well established as first choice, and Zelewski can provide cover for both…. He was a regular starter under Mourinho, and looked pretty good… at 23, he can still improve, and if he doesn’t look the part, we can send him back…
Is he worthy of playing for Inter? Is he good enough? This may be another waste signing. I continue to see this trend of average players. He was a Roma reject and Inter bought him. Why??
the last two roma rejects inter got over were Mhiki and dzeko, who were pretty useful for us over the years! that being said.. I am not too hopeful about this chap, he is a Bellanovas level at best, minus the speed. hopefully he will prove me wrong. In anyway it’s a loan deal, if he is not good enough we can just send him back.
that man is a plastic fan. don’t listen to him
I think he’ll impress you. Ive only watched him a few times but He’s good with both feet, has experience playing in Serie A, he’s younger and already better than Tajon. He’ll be good for us.
I m absolutely in shock when i read this called fans comments… Its not about his good or not, we get him for the numbers, how much was playing Buchanan, what he was offering..? . Not much.. So what to expect from this guy? .. Pretty much nothing, because if everyone stays healthy this guy not gonna see a lot the pitch…
