Inter Milan will offer a multi-year contract extension to defender Stefan de Vrij after his decisive display against AC Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Netherlands international defender de Vrij certainly underlined his worth to Inter yesterday.
The 32-year-old started in the derby against AC Milan.
And it was yet another strong performance at the back from de Vrij. He used his physicality and experience to mark former Chelsea and Roma striker Tammy Abraham very well.
Then, in stoppage time, Stefan de Vrij popped up with Inter’s equalizer.
Inter Milan To Offer Stefan De Vrij A Multi-Year Contract Extension
Yesterday’s match was just the latest impressive performance from Stefan de Vrij this season.
In the last few months, the Dutchman has been a key figure for Inter defensively. Particularly with Francesco Acerbi frequently absent through injury.

De Vrij has proven to be a leader defensively. Even though he will turn 33 this month, he has been in some of the best form of his Inter career.
Therefore, the Gazzetta report, the Nerazzurri have no doubts. They want to hold on to de Vrij for the future.
Inter have the option to extend de Vrij’s contract, which expires at the end of June, by one year.
However, reports the Gazzetta, the Nerazzurri’s plan is not to exercise that option.
Rather, Inter will offer a multi-year extension to the former Lazio defender.
