Fiorentina made Edoardo Bove proud by producing a “miracle” performance to beat Inter Milan 3-0 yesterday evening.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908.
Inter were certainly not at their best against Fiorentina yesterday evening. In fact, the Nerazzurri may have been at their absolute worst under Simone Inzaghi.
However, that hardly meant a guarantee that Fiorentina would get a big result. Let alone that they’d win by a remarkable 3-0 margin.
The odds did look to be stacked against La Viola.
Whereas Inter had more or less their full squad available, Fiorentina had to cope with a threadbare squad.
Multiple Viola players were playing out of position just to get a team out on the pitch.
But Fiorentina seemingly made a virtue of necessity. They reacted to the adversity with spirit and hunger that Inter simply found impossible to cope with.
Fiorentina Make Edoardo Bove Proud With “Miracle” Display Vs Inter Milan
For the Corriere, the circumstances of yesterday’s match undoubtedly played a role.
Fiorentina and Inter were restarting a match that had been temporarily abandoned due to a medical emergency for midfielder Edoardo Bove.

Bove’s collapse had been a traumatic shock for both sets of players at the time.
And it was naturally a huge setback in the context of Fiorentina’s season.
The Tuscan side have seemingly eventually found a way to react, however.
And yesterday, the Corriere argues, the desire to do justice to Bove galvanized the Fiorentina players.
The Viola squad played well beyond the limitations and setbacks.
And it was a “miracle” that Inter simply could not withstand.
