Simone Inzaghi couldn’t contain his emotions after Inter Milan squeezed past fellow Serie A rivals Fiorentina on Monday.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Inzaghi’s reaction wasn’t just a reflection of his joy for taking three points.
It was also due to his rivalry against Viola manager Raffaele Palladino.
Indeed, Palladino inflicted Inzaghi’s heaviest Serie A defeat in charge of the Nerazzurri last Thursday.
Moise Kean notched a brace as Fiorentina romped the reigning Scudetto holders 3-0 in Tuscany.
Why Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi Burst Into Wild Celebration After Fiorentina Win
Inzaghi’s problem with Palladino stretches back to the latter’s managerial stint at Monza.
Indeed, while in charge of then the top-flight newcomers, Palladino held Inter winless in both league meetings.

Back then, Inzaghi’s coaching position at the San Siro teetered on the edge of collapse.
However, the club showed him confidence despite an underwhelming 2022/23 campaign.
Simone Inzaghi would repay that trust the following season by leading Inter to their 20th title in Serie A.
But he still seems to be holding grudges against Palladino.
