Striker Marcus Thuram could be left out of the Inter Milan starting eleven for Saturday’s Serie A clash with Genoa.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Frenchman’s fitness could be managed in view of the following weekend’s match against Napoli.
Inter Milan take on Genoa this weekend in Serie A.
And the Nerazzurri will hardly be underestimating the difficulty the Grifone pose them. Particularly considering that they had previously drawn against the Ligurians in August.
However, the fact remains that Inter have another massive match on the horizon.
At the start of March, the Nerazzurri travel to Campania to take on Napoli.
And with two points currently separating Inter and Napoli in the table, there is the feeling that that match could be the Serie A title decider.
Marcus Thuram Could Be Rested For Inter Milan Vs Genoa Clash
Considering the timing of the match against Napoli, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will be thinking carefully about the lineup for Saturday’s match against Genoa.
And one of the big questions concerns striker Marcus Thuram.

Thuram is definitely available. He is fit enough to play, despite having sustained an ankle knock in a Serie A match against Fiorentina earlier this month.
However, as was on display in his substitute appearance against Juventus, Thuram is not necessarily at his best.
The 27-year-old is still shaking off the effects of the blow he took to the ankle.
Therefore, behind the scenes, Inter and Inzaghi are considering how to best manage Thuram’s fitness.
Clearly, Thuram is a player Inzaghi will want not just available but in top form against Napoli.
And if the feeling is that starting against Genoa this weekend will only slow down Thuram’s recovery, then Inzaghi may well decide to leave the Frenchman out of the lineup.
