Defender Francesco Acerbi is the MOTM for Inter Milan in yesterday’s 1-0 Serie A win over Genoa.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, hail the 37-year-old as being “back to his best” after his performance in the 1-0 victory.
Inter Milan needed a strong defensive showing against Genoa yesterday.
In attack, one goal was enough. Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez headed home from a Hakan Calhanoglu corner.
Then, in defense Inter kept a precious clean sheet.
And in the view of the Gazzetta, there was one player in particular who can take credit for that defensive solidity.
Acerbi Back To His Best In Inter Milan 1-0 Genoa Serie A Win
Francesco Acerbi has been back fit and available in Inter’s last few matches.
The Italian international had put in solid performances against the likes of Juventus and particularly Fiorentina.

And yesterday against Genoa, Acerbi showed how valuable he can still be for Inter.
The former Lazio and Sassuolo defender had the task of marking former Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti.
And in truth, Pinamonti hardly had an impact on the match. Francesco Acerbi followed him around the pitch diligently, winning all his challenges.
The 37-year-old made a few key defensive interventions in his own box, and also wasn’t shy about starting attacks for Inter.
