Striker Marcus Thuram is pushing to be fit to start for Inter Milan in next Saturday’s top-of-the-table Serie A clash with Napoli.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram is currently recovering from an ankle problem.
The Frenchman took a blow to the ankle in a challenge in a match against Fiorentina earlier this month.
Thuram had tried to play on after receiving that knock. But he had to come off the pitch right around the half hour mark of that match.
Then, Thuram had managed to play as a substitute in a Serie A match against Juventus.
However, it was fairly obvious that the 27-year-old was not at his best physically in that substitute appearance.

Due to this lack of fitness, Marcus Thuram did not feature in the Inter squad for Saturday’s Serie A win over Genoa.
Moreover, the former Borussia Monchengladbach striker also will not play a part in tomorrow’s Coppa Italia quarterfinal against Lazio.

However, the target for Thuram is clear. He is aiming to be available against Napoli.
Moreover, Thuram does not just want to be an option from the bench. He is pushing to be ready to start that match.
Considering that next Saturday’s match will pit the top two teams in the Serie A table, there is already the feeling that it could represent a potential title-decider.
Accordingly, Thuram is doing everything that he can to be available for it.
