Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi struggled to convince in yesterday’s 2-0 Coppa Italia triumph against Lazio.
Per TMW, Frattesi’s performance was average at best.
With Inter facing a high-stakes Serie A clash against Napoli, Simone Inzaghi rested Nicolo Barella last night.
That signaled Frattesi’s return to the starting line-up for only the third time this calendar year.
However, the 25-year-old failed to make any impact on the pitch and struggled to assert himself in the midfield.
Davide Frattesi Fails to Live Up to Expectations in Inter Milan Win vs Lazio
Davide Frattesi endured a rough first half.
Despite offering an energetic showing, he did very little in possession.

Furthermore, his trademark runs behind the lines yielded no end product.
As a result, Frattesi’s performance highlighted his ongoing inconsistency this season.
Inter blocked his transfer to Roma in the January transfer window despite the player’s alleged request to leave.
However, unless the ex-Sassuolo star shows any sign of improvement, the Nerazzurri will likely sanction his departure in the summer.
In Frattesi’s defense, he played on painkillers last night.
I think we all wanted Frattesi to be a success at Inter, but his skillset simply doesn’t work in Inzaghis system! We can’t have a midfielder who averages about 15 passes a game, whenever he gets a start!
Personally, I would have liked to ha e seen him play as an AMC, just behind a lone striker, and Inzaghi Tweak his system to a 3-5-1-1 on occasion- he would have scored a lot more than Taremi, if he’d had his minutes, but clearly Inzaghi doesn’t want to even try this…
Given that his market value is still high, the best thing for everyone is to cash in on Frattesi this summer, and fund a large chunk of our mercato…. if losing Frattesi would mean that we gain either a Paz, Ricci, or Rovella, it will be worth it…
not surprised with his rating. that’s why he’s a backup. funny he thinks he deserves more playing times while all he does is running forward without ball. his dribbling, defending, passing are average
