Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer could return to action in mid-March for a mouth-watering Serie A clash against Atalanta.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Sommer’s recovery is going to plan after he underwent thumb surgery last week.
With Sommer injured for the first time since joining Inter, Simone Inzaghi had to play his backup keeper in the last two matches.
However, Josep Martinez was up to the task.
Indeed, he painted his Serie A debut against former club Genoa with flying colors.
Furthermore, he kept another clean sheet in last night’s Coppa Italia win against Lazio.
Inter Milan Star Yann Sommer Could Return from Injury for Atalanta Clash in Mid-March
Inter and Atalanta will lock horns at the Gewiss Stadium on March 16.
That’s when Sommer could return between the sticks.

However, he won’t be at Inzaghi’s disposal for Saturday’s Serie A title-deciding fixture against Napoli.
Moreover, he’ll skip the first leg of Inter’s Champions League last-16 tie against Feyenoord.
Last but not least, he should miss a league match against rock-bottom Monza.
