Inter Milan under-19 wingback Matteo Cocchi could make his first team debut as a result of an injury crisis.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter are currently in the midst of a real injury crisis in the wingback positions.
Matteo Darmian went off with an injury during Tuesday’s Coppa Italia match against Lazio.
Meanwhile, Carlos Augusto has missed Inter’s last couple of matches. This is due to a calf bruise that he sustained during the Derby d’Italia against Juventus earlier this month.
Then, January signing Nicola Zalewski picked up a calf problem in training this week.
Therefore, Inter are running out of options on the flanks.
Inter Milan Could Hand Matteo Cocchi Senior Debut Amid Injury Crisis
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have to rely on Denzel Dumfries and Federico Dimarco in upcoming matches against Napoli and Feyenoord.
But the Nerazzurri coach will be wary of burning the two first-choice starters out completely.

The wingback position is a physically demanding one in Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 formation.
Therefore, Inzaghi will at least be aiming to not use Dumfries and Dumarco for ninety minutes twice in the space of a few days.
And one solution could come from the youth ranks.
Wingback Matteo Cocchi has been in very good form for the Inter Under-19 or Primavera team this season.
The 18-year-old plays on the left as a fullback or attacking wingback.
Therefore, Inzaghi could turn to Cocchi, handing the teenager his senior debut.

I told you before, i will tell you again.. Go and follow Barcelona, they using 17y from their academy… What’s the point to see some youngster in the Coppa??? They will play 15-20min and that’s it.. We going for all the possible titles that generate money… Seria a is not a one horse race like the French league to be able to integrate youngsters or we don’t have a fantastic academy like Barcelona…The priority was to qualify for the semifinal that can bring us 7-8mil more so we can buy another Bisseck…
This is why we’re supposed to have a youth team… would have been nice to see a couple in the Coppa….
