Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez have suffered a dramatic drop-off in form over the last number of weeks.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note the worrying trend in the Nerazzurri attack.
Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram have certainly been key players for their team over the last couple seasons.
And that has been the case for much of the current campaign.
At the start of the season, Inter captain Martinez was far from his best. But that didn’t matter too much, as Thuram really stepped up.
Then, late in the autumn, Martinez started to really look at his best physically. This led to some of his best goalscoring form.
Marcus Thuram & Lautaro Martinez Suffer Worrying Drop-Off For Inter Milan
The hope for Inter Milan is always that both Thuram and Martinez will be in hot scoring form.
But when either one of the pair is on a good scoring run, it will usually suffice.

The real worry, however, is when neither of the two first-choice starting strikers are finding the back of the net.
And that has been the case in the last few weeks.
Thuram has scored just once in the last thirteen matches. And he has not scored in eight matches now.
Moreover, the Frenchman has clearly not looked at his best on a physical level in some time.
Thuram’s ankle injury against Fiorentina last month clearly looks to have knocked him out of his groove.
Meanwhile, Inter captain Lautaro Martinez has scored just once in the last seven matches.
The captain’s hot streak from January looks worrying close to turning into another goal drought.
The lack of form from both of the two starting strikers was evident in Inter’s Serie A draw with Napoli over the weekend.
