Federico Dimarco and Nicola Zalewski are pushing to return from injury in next weekend’s Serie A clash between Atalanta and Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan have had something of an injury crisis at wingback in recent weeks.
Carlos Augusto has returned after a calf problem. The Brazilian came off the bench in yesterday’s Serie A win over Monza.
That has given Inter coach Simone Inzaghi a vital option on the left flank.
But the Nerazzurri are still without two players in the wingback position.
Nicola Zalewski has been on the sidelines with a calf problem since the end of February. And Federico Dimarco picked up a thigh problem against Napoli at the start of March.
Dimarco & Zalewski Pushing To Return For Atalanta Vs Inter Milan Serie A Clash
According to the Gazzetta, neither of Dimarco or Zalewski have any chance of returning for Inter’s next match.
The Nerazzurri take on Feyenoord in just a couple of days. They face the Dutch side in the second leg of a Champions League round of sixteen tie.
Therefore, Carlos Augusto and the makeshift Alessandro Bastoni will remain the two left-sided wingback options for that match.
But according to the Gazzetta, Dimarco and Zalewski both have a chance of returning for Inter’s next match.
The Nerazzurri travel to Bergamo to take on Atalanta next Sunday.
