Henrikh Mkhitaryan has come under fire for a sluggish performance for Inter Milan against Monza yesterday in Serie A.
As TuttoMercatoWeb note, the player ratings for the match have not been kind to the Armenian.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was in the Inter Milan starting eleven yesterday.
The 36-year-old former Arsenal, Manchester United, and Roma midfielder returned to the lineup after he had been left out in the Nerazzurri’s Champions League win over Feyenoord in midweek.
Mkhitaryan completed the usual Inter Milan midfield trio alongside Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella.
Mkhitaryan Criticized For Sluggish Display In Inter Milan 3-2 Monza Clash
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was not really up to the pace of yesterday’s match, however.
There was one really notable moment from the former Borussia Dortmund and Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder. He was the player who started the move from which Marko Arnautovic scored the first goal of Inter’s three-goal comeback.

However, apart from that there was not much of a contribution from Mkhitaryan.
Therefore, the biggest problem from the 36-year-old was a lack of real bite or energy in midfield.
When Monza used their pace and directness to counterattack when they won the ball back, Mkhitaryan struggled to keep up and apply the pressure.
The impression was that the Armenian was just starting to show his age.
Miki has been solid in midfield always providing the right pass and stable on defense. If you looking for a Barcelona type midfielder go to Spain. This is smart, method tactic football. He’s been consistent for 3 years for
Inter and never injured. They brought Fratessi, does nothing. They brought Zielewski and he’s okay but never creates or brings anything. Hakan, Miki and Barella are still near midfield in Italy
We all are so smart. And Inzaghi does not know football, we all know better.
An example: if Barrea (do not misinterpret, he is a great footballer, but nobody is perfect) makes 6 error passes in the first 8 minutes, and causes trouble to the defense, nobody says anything. If Micki makes 2 wrong passes in some 85 minutes, all internet suddenly makes a big noise. Micki’s organizing of the first goal that is so shamefully underestimated here, changed the course of the Monza game. So let us be more realistic and appreciative
sorry, Barella
I don’t agree to be honst with you. Micki is a crucial player for Inter Milan and he has the ability to be in the starting line up. He is doing the Hard Work. But all in all every player from Inter can do better than what they are doing right now. If they improve their performence then everyone will performe better
Correa looks hungry in midfield and can actually drive forward and cause a lot of trouble to the opposition team with either Lautaro or Thuram running alongside him Inter’s counter attacks will be deadly. Yes he’s not as defensive as Mikhi but Inter can actually afford to defend deep knowing full well the counter attacks will hurt opposition. This is the only logical solution to Mikhi problem and Zielinski injury
Mikhi is old now. He should be a rotation option when veteran experience and maturity are needed. One can demand from him to start almost every game and play for 90 mins each.
Atalanta just beaten Juve 4-0. Inter has a crucial week.
Wtf you talking about????? He gave as a great help until now and suddenly his old… Fratessi is good as dogshit, Fratessi is not Inter material, if everyone stay healthy Fratessi is not gonna see the pitch more then 15mins every 3 games, 100% Fratessi will be sold in the summer… Fck fratessi
The man is old and since his injury, it’s apparent his time has come now. He shouldn’t be expected to play 90 mins like if he was 22 or something. He shouldn’t start being a sub instead and let Frattesi start more so he can better adapt with Barella again like they do for Italy.
