New restrictions for traffic and parking will take effect around the San Siro for matches involving Inter Milan and AC Milan this autumn.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the city of Milan has approved the regulations for September.

The city of Milan is taking steps to curb the amount of traffic around the San Siro.

Naturally, area is a hotbed for car traffic during matches.

The San Siro holds a capacity of around 75.000. And it regularly reaches, or comes close to, that during matches involving Inter Milan or AC Milan.

Therefore, managing the traffic as well as parking is no mean feat.

And the city of Milan has decided on a drastic intervention.

New Traffic & Parking Restrictions To Take Effect At San Siro For Inter & AC Milan Matches

The city of Milan has defined the area around the San Siro in which they will restrict traffic.

Going west to east, restrictions will apply between the Via Pinerolo and the Viale Renato Serra.

Meanwhile, going north to south, they will apply from the Via Benedetto Croce and the “Uruguay” Metro station all the way to the intersection of the Via Paravia and the Via Novara.

The Corriere della Sera report that new traffic restrictions will be applicable to any event at the San Siro with over 30,000 spectators.

Therefore, it will certainly apply to any Inter or Milan matches.

The restrictions will apply three hours before the start time of any event.

6500 vehicles will be allowed into the designated area during the restricted times. These will be the vehicles of residents, service vehicles, and those with passes for parking in paid lots.

The Corriere della Sera report that these restrictions will begin to take effect in September. That will roughly coincide with the start of the 2025-26 Serie A season.
