Stefan de Vrij is a major doubt for Sunday’s Serie A clash between Atalanta and Inter Milan.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that tomorrow will be the decisive day for the 33-year-old’s fitness ahead of the potential title-decider.

Inter Milan midfielder Stefan de Vrij has suffered a knee problem

The Dutchman had to pull out of the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Feyenoord. That despite him having been expected to start the round of sixteen second leg.

De Vrij felt some pain in his knee in the warmup. And that was enough to cause him to withdraw.

De Vrij has not returned to training with the rest of the squad.

The 33-year-old still has some inflammation in his knee. Therefore, he is having to train individually, working on a recovery program to try and shake off the knock.

There is no serious injury for de Vrij.

However, the inflammation in the Netherlands international continues to be a nagging problem.

Therefore, it is looking doubtful that de Vrij will be able to return to fitness for Sunday’s match against Atalanta.

Stefan de Vrij is not currently back in training. If he has not made significant improvements tomorrow, then he likely won’t be called up against Atalanta.
