Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries will not join the Netherlands national team after sustaining a muscle injury against Atalanta.
According to the Dutch Football Association via FCInterNews, the 28-year-old will stay at the San Siro to accelerate his recovery.
Denzel Dumfries had to come off midway through the second half in last night’s win in Bergamo.
Indeed, Yann Bisseck took his place as a muscle problem forced the Dutchman off.
Therefore, he will need treatment to regain full fitness.
Inter Milan Star Denzel Dumfries Released by Netherlands Due to Injury
Despite being vital to Ronald Koeman’s setup, Dumfries will not feature for his country during March’s international break.
Instead, he will remain in Italy to recover from injury.

The same goes for Stefan de Vrij, who skipped yesterday’s trip to the Gewiss Stadium with a knee issue.
Meanwhile, the Netherlands will face Spain in a mouth-watering Nations League quarter-final tie.
Hopefully, Dumfries will be at Inzaghi’s disposal for Inter’s next Serie A match against Udinese.
Federico Dimarco could also return to the squad during the two-week hiatus from club football.
