Udinese defender Jaka Bijol has reemerged as Inter Milan’s primary defensive target for the upcoming summer transfer window.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, and via FCInterNews.it, the Slovenia international is being closely monitored by the Nerazzurri and he has moved to the top of their list of targets.
Inter are convinced by his physicality and his reading of the game, whilst the defender’s contract only has two years remaining on it and so the Serie A league leaders are optimistic that a transfer can be agreed.
Bidding is expected to start at €20 million and Inter hope to smooth negotiations by offering some additional bonuses.
Bijol, who is expected to face Inter as Udinese travel to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Serie A on Sunday, has moved ahead of other targets, including Bologna’s Sam Beukema and Isak Hien of Atalanta.
The former is reported to be closing in on a move to Napoli, whilst Atalanta’s demands for Hien are expected to exceed €20m, leaving Bijol as the most likely option for Inter.
scalvini please
Even as a swede, was not impressed by Isak Hien in Swedens loss against Luxembourg.
I expect Jay Idzes will the club’s priority.
He is not Inter material. I guess the lower price might make the difference in choice, not the quality.
what about a dramatic Return of Milan Skriniar?
he is surely the right defender and still has 3-4 years left un him. he will hardly cost 10m.
inter not that desperate.
