Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Josep Martinez and Davide Frattesi in attack against AC Milan. This evening’s Coppa Italia semi-final clash kicks off at 21.00 CET.
This evening, Inter Milan take on Milan in a mouth-watering Coppa Italia semi-final tie. The last time that the Nerazzurri and the Biancocelesti met, it ended in a 1-1 draw in the Serie A.

For Inter, this evening is a chance to reach the Coppa Italia grand final for the third time in the last four editions.
Meanwhile, Milan will be out to extend their three-game unbeaten run against the reigning Scudetto holders.
Moreover, this will be Inter’s penultimate warm-up ahead of next week’s Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
Here’s how we line up for tonight’s first leg 📋#MilanInter #CoppaItaliaFrecciarossa #SempreMilan

Therefore, it is little surprise to see Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi name a mixed starting eleven.
Josep Martinez & Davide Frattesi Start – Lautaro Martinez Out Injured

Striker Lautaro Martinez is not fit for tonight’s game. The Argentine talisman has failed to recover from a muscle injury.
Therefore, El Toro is on the sidelines for this evening’s match.
Accordingly, it is Joaquin Correa who starts for Inter. The Iranian international leads the line alongside Marcus Thuram.
Furthermore, that means Nerazzurri veteran Marko Arnautovic drops to the bench.
Otherwise, though, there are few surprises.
Firstly, Yann Sommer surrenders his place between the sticks as Josep Martinez starts in goal.
Then, in defense Stefan de Vrij gets the nod ahead of Francesco Acerbi after starting on the bench against Udinese last weekend.
Then, flanking De Vrij in the back three are Alessandro Bastoni and Yann Bisseck.
Meanwhile, in midfield, Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella start in the midfield.
Furthermore, Davide Frattesi completes the midfield rotation in the starting XI.
Lastly, on the flanks Matteo Darmian and Federico Dimarco start, with the former replacing Denzel Dumfries on the right.

fratessi cant build up from mid so i think simone should try him as striker instead since hes good at scoring.
i can see corea trying, but beside the assist i dont think hes worth to keep.
zalewski positioning and move off the ball is something good to see. he gave more impact than carlos tonight. he just need to start to try crosing with his left foot more often.
afterall i see its more than badluck for us this season when we face direct rival cos i believe seeing how we play in those match we should get better result.
Only two players of inter milan were missing and everyone is crying oh inter played with team B.
Inzaghi made many mistakes in this match: He placed Barella in the least favourite position of his and Fattessi was clueless.
Tammy Abraham seems to always score against inter. I wonder if behind the seen, inter has agreed with ac milan to fix the match, like inter would allow ac to get advanced. Ac bilan shall always be the enemies of inter,. any inter fan who doesn’t consider ac milan their enemies they should just supporting inter.
Anybody else going to the 2nd leg?
Could be a long night
What is going in with some supporters lately? So much negativity. We have people saying they’d be happy if Inzaghi leaves this season… We are literally witnessing Inter’s best period post treble season and banter era and a lot of that is thanks to Inzaghi and Marotta. However, that’s not enough for some people here. According to these guys, Inter would be thriving without Inzaghi. Serious question: who do we bring in? The only coaches better than Inzaghi at the moment are Flick, Slot, Klopp, Luis Enrique (maybe), and Ancelotti. None of these guys are available, and even if they were, we probably can’t afford them. So who’s left? Conte (great in the league but dog shit in the CL, needs reinforcements every season in order to stay, and constantly throws players under the bus)Pioli, Spalletti, Mancini? Maybe Italiano, Motta, or De Zerbi? Be realistic guys. We are lucky to have Inzaghi. He is not given much in terms of transfers yet he makes it work. Football fans in other countries seem to think Inzaghi’s Inter is among the best teams in Europe, but some fans fail to give credit where credit is due.
I forgot to mention Pep among the best managers, but that’s even more unlikely to happen
If I moan about inzaghi – it’s isolated to his subs or tactical decisions on a particular game. Like the other day when IF we’d blown a 2 goal lead it would have all been on him.
However I don’t for a minute think there’s much else better out there, whilst he can be frustrating with his little quirks – he’s very consistent and yes he’s been fortunate with the squad marotta has built, many managers have had good squads and failed.
He’s got to be given credit for the hakan experiment!!
I will moan if I see him making what I perceive to be blunders BUT that doesn’t mean I want him out the door.
We should all cherish these years as for many things were not like this.
I know you’re a true fan, I’ve seen you commenting for years now. Your takes are reasonable, even if I don’t agree with some. I know Inzaghi is frustrating at times lol.
My comment was targetted at guys like Davide and Inter4ever, InterMilan75, etc. These guys are either bitter af or truly delusional.
lol I nearly fell over when you said I was reasonable
But yeah I try to be, and I guess it would be boring if we all agreed all the time.
I think some forget that we all want the same thing (I would hope) it’s just that sometimes we have different ideas on how to get there.
But I will never understand people who say things like “I’m done / I’m stopping watching until…..” etc etc
Real fans know you gotta have the crappy times to really enjoy the good times.
Yeah, I agree with you. That’s why I barely come to the comment sections, just looking for transfer news or anything else. I am so tired of all the negativity. I feel so blessed that Inter bounced back since the banter era.
I really like what I see of martinez. I hope we don’t go after Dollaruma. Martinez only needs to improve with the ball at his feet and commanding the area (talking to the defense) and he will be set for the next five years at least.
Frustrating that we couldn’t get the win,but we were by far the better side, and we need to put this to bed in the second leg… beating them to get to the final would make up for the rest of the derbies this season…. As usual, some ridiculous negativity and slagging off of players who don’t deserve it, but hey, what else do you expect on here??
We have the league to play in and can’t rest, ucl against Bayern two hard games and then bilan in between; we will have injures for sure while bilan only have to focus on the coppa really since they won’t be ucl or uel next season, they can rest while we can’t rest or rotate.
Not sure how coppa rules are but if it’s away goal rurles then: Next game if it ends 0-0 we go through but if it’s 2-2 or 3-3 bilan goes through on away goals
Inter played the match with a lot key players missing while Milan had a full team. Still Inter could’ve won in the first half Frattessi was like a headless chicken with Barella who needed to handle both sides when it comes to attack because Frattesi doesn’t know how to cross or pass forward which means Inter were constantly under pressure. Darmian however was bang on average too afraid to do anything remotely creative.. Upfront Thuram seems like he was never going to score and Correa once proved he’s playing in an off position. Bisseck mistake with that dummy shows that he still needs to improve in defense by being aggressive. Someone like Acerbi would not be fooled and just simply froze and let someone turn so easily in front of him. A draw is good result because perhaps in the second leg it would be Milan who must deal with injuries
Hope we get some speed in out back line this summer.
Somehow Milan always got lucky against us this season. Abraham goal is the deflection from the challenge, really cant say it is a pass from Fofana. Over all not bad result, consider this is the least important cup compare the other two. But Darmian, man, I respect him, but he is no longer able to play high intense full game any more. Correa on the other hand very good vision this game, and nice assist to Chala.
Martinez is a great keeper- what are you talking about?? And Zalewski has always looked Dangerous when he comes on… Bisseck suddenly seems to be everyone’s target… he’s young and learning, but he has enormous potential, and didn’t really do much wrong tonight… Honestly, the negativity on here is unreal at times!!
Sorry, that comment wasn’t for you… honestly, I’m almost ready to give up on this comment section!!
I feel you man. This chat is a little bit challenge. But hey, at least we have a place to bluffing and bitching.
I agree with you, Martinez great performance today, the conceding goal not his fault. And what a save on Leao in the first half!!!
corea have very good vision? really? exclude the assist i cant see any good move or pass from him. terrible long pass, easy to intercept, n poor dribling.
chill out guys, we drew after being better than bilan with our B team. this match was more important for bilan than us, at it is their only chance of being in Europe next year. for us we have more important games coming up. that being said when we have our whole team available for the second leg at home… muhahahahaha.. evil laugh..
This is an important tie for us as well. The Coppa Italia and Serie A are the two trophies we can win this season. Making a double would be nice. Otherwise we risk ending up with one or zero trophies, and Milan with two. Inzaghi should have made less rotation.
Don’t worry; Inzaghi gives a hand. He starts in the same lineup Fratessi, Correa and Darmian. It is like starting with 9 and a half players. It is a pity because the Coppa Italia and Serie A are the 2 trophies we can win this season.
and yet we almost won against bilan with 9 players. there’s no way Correa starts over Martinez, agusto starts over di Marco, darmian starts over Dumfries in the return match. so it’s gonna be different. have faith.
I hope so. It would be a pity to lose the Coppa Italia to a midtable team.
Correa and Darmian starting in the second leg it would mean Inter are in a much desperate situation. At least Frattessi can actually score goals Correa makes it hard to believe he plays forward because he just don’t know how to shoot. Frattessi should be used however in second half while Darmian is way past his prime and has accepted that fact so it’s Inzaghi’s fault to playing someone so mediocre that it’s sad to watch him play.
Indeed, Darmian made his service to us and we are thankful, now the time to move on. I hope Lautaro returns for Parma; I don’t want Correa to play for us again. lol
7 shots on target and 11 shots off target for us but once again we can’t beat a mid table bilan SMH means we can’t even rest or rotate for next game.
We started with half our 11 with bench players, this should’ve been a win for us but yet again Inzaghi shows he’s not a world class coach.
Zaleswski is useless send him back, don’t play Martinez in goal in a semifinal, don’t play slow bisseck, or ASSlani who will be back next game, and Correa and we should have a chance.
We played with hakan; thuram and barella the whole game with no rest instead we took out the trash players, that’s bad management.
Let’s see if we can win one trophy this season it’s in our hands.
Martinez is a great keeper- what are you talking about?? And Zalewski has always looked Dangerous when he comes on… Bisseck suddenly seems to be everyone’s target… he’s young and learning, but he has enormous potential, and didn’t really do much wrong tonight… Honestly, the negativity on here is unreal at times!!
don’t reply to him, if you see his comments he appears to be a second grader! he should remove inter from his name.
I don’t know why I bite… it would just be nice to have more actual Inter fans on here….
there were a few and then nima decided that discus was not good enough and started this $hitshow of comments. without up votes, emojis, gifs etc.
Yeah… sad to say, but the comments section is dying a slow death….
I know what you mean 😉
I just thought what game did this dude watch !? 😀 Zalewski great, Martinez also, need to improve ball in legs, bit he had good saves
wish Fratessi never plays again, ffs, boi is useless
Wish bilan would bring pioli back, at least he would roll over and play dead..
Inzaghi is getting figured out and hasn’t adjusted or evolved yet. Matter of time until other teams figure him out too.
I liked the team’s reaction. But we still haven’t won a derby this season. Which bothers me a lot, because this Milan team is very weak.
Somehow they rise to the occasion against us. lol
I don’t understand the criticism against Bisseck in this match.
I thought he handled Leao well
Darmian is a dead horse… Our right side is weak af, Frattesi, Biseck, as soon as the starters aren’t there we don’t even attack from there. I would like to see DiMarco left and Zalewski right how it would work, with Pavard and Bastoni behind them
Great goal by Çalhanoglu. As soon as Fratesi left the team tied the game lol
Frattesi doesn’t fit your team. You should trade him to Napoli for Raspadori. Would be a great alternative in your two striker system so you don’t play the likes of Correa or Arna…
Hakan!!!!!! goooaaalll!!!! what a strike!!!! c’mon now!!! bury these clowns!!!!
Inzaghi not being able to beat ANY top team is concerning. Bilan is a MID TABLE TEAM this season. The fact that he only won the league once in 4 years (when we got eliminated from ucl in round of 16) and never winning the double, shows his limitations. If he leaves end of season I won’t be upset since he just can’t win against big teams.
inter beat Atalanta?
last year we won a lot against big teams, dont speak nonsense, such is year, 50+injuries, and handling the season as it goes, be straight with reality
calm your tits bud.. stop talking nonsense.. you don’t like what you see go support bilan or merdentus. this was not an essential game for us. we played with our B team, yet could have won it if we were a bit more clinical up front.
Another classic without a win this season. And Inzagui will continue to insist on the weak Fratesi. Inzagui’s biggest flaw is not knowing how to move the team.
Why sub Augusto not Darmian???
Overrated inter players:
Bisseck, frattesi, ASSlani, martinez. Can’t change my mind
Biseks is still poor in man-marking opponent
This is getting silly now!! Can we please beat these mid table morons!?!?!
We’ve seriously been lacking this season. I’m not even sure how we’re in first place in Serie A and still alive in all competitions.
At the start of the season, I did that I’m Football, to stand still is to go backwards… not bringing in 1 player for the starting 11, in an ageing squad, was always going to spell trouble!!
I said that, in Football…. damned auto spell!!!
At least we’re seeing some urgency after Milan’s goal.
The difference is, we have several bench players playing: bisseck, Correa, martinez, darmian, augosto, frattesi. Half the starting eleven. While Milan have a whole starting eleven. There is no reason for our backup keeper to play in a semi final of the cup. SMH
Chasing shadows!!
inter need to sign dan ndoye of bologna to shore up the right wing
Once again we don’t take our chances against Milan and we always get punished for it.
Milan can be sitting last in the league, don’t matter derbies are always 50/50. I have no expectations from this game because Inzaghi always have a hard time against big teams as we seen. Hope we go the final though, can’t have an easier opponent than bologna in the final.
On another note; this new comment section is as empty as a graveyard. Used to be hundreds of comments specially for a Derby game but now less than 15 comments LOL sad times
Simply because they decided to make like its 2002… the modern standard way of commenting was apparently “Not working” Lol
make Correa play AMF, swap darmian for zalewski brink in arna for fratessi. and we are covered.
Darmian just needs to man mark Leao, he is useless up front anyway.
Frattesi is literally playing like a drunk guy. He needs to switched immediately or Inter will concede…The coach can’t be that blind
I agree. That said, it’s extremely uncommon for a player to be subbed out of the game before the first half, even if said player is playing poorly.
Fratesi is the same as playing with one less player. He doesn’t get anything he does right.
where is lord Asllani when we need him
I don’t know what’s going on with Fratessi. Last season, he looked ready to break into the first team. These season, not so much. He doesn’t look confident and constantly making bad passes and losing possession. I really wanted him to work out at Inter. There’s still time, but it looks increasingly unlikely as time goes by.
Forza Inter. Another no win is unaccepteable.
As long as we reach the final, I have no issue with one of the games ending in a draw
Oh yeah, I agree.
C”mom Boys, Let’s Gooooooo!!!!
