Inter Milan scouted centre-back Jay Idzes and striker Nikola Krstovic in yesterday’s Serie A relegation showdown between Lecce and Venezia.

This according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com.

Yesterday, Lecce hosted Venezia in Serie A.

The two teams close to the bottom of the league table played out a 1-1 draw. A result that both will see as a decent point as they aim to avoid relegation.

On the pitch at the Via del Mare, stalwart Venezia had the task of handling in-form Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic.,

And according to CM.com, there was an interested party in the stands from one of Serie A’s heavy hitters.,

CM.com report that Inter sent a scout to watch yesterday’s relegation scrap.

And at the centre of the scout’s assignment was to closely follow the performance of Venezia defender Jay Idzes.

According to CM.com, Inter see Idzes as a potential target for this summer transfer window.

It’s no secret that Inter will be looking to sign a defender this summer. The likes of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij are not getting any younger, and so a long-term replacement is needed.

And Idzes has a profile that Inter are very keen on.

The 25-year-old Indonesian has proven himself in Serie A this season.

Idzes has been one of the stadnout players for a Venezia team that have tightened up their defense significantly in recent weeks.

The Indonesian has the physicality and man-marking ability to play at the centre of a back three, a huge asset for Inter.

CM.com note that among the strikers that Idzes has marked out of matches this season have been Napoli’s Romelu Lukaku and Roma’s Artem Dovbyk.

Meanwhile, CM.com report, there was another player on the agenda of the Inter scout at the Via del Mare yesterday.

The Nerazzurri also see Lecce striker Nikola Krstovic as one of their primary targets in attack this summer.
