Former Lazio keeper Luca Marchegiani feels that Inter Milan should have “beaten Parma 4-0” in Serie A if they had been in form.
Marchegiani gave his thoughts on the Nerazzurri’s 2-2 Serie A draw this weekend on Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan drew 2-2 away to Parma on Saturday evening.
That is certainly not the result that Inter had hoped for, in view of the Serie A title race.
But it was a result that was made all the worse by the way in which it came.
Inter had led the match 2-0 at halftime, where they very much appeared to be cruising.
However, the Nerazzurri switched off in the second half. They let Parma back into the match.
Marchegiani: “Inter Milan Should Be Beating Parma 4-0 If They’re In Form”

And for his part, former Lazio and Torino goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani was not impressed.
Marchiegaini argued that “A team like Inter, if they’re in form, have to be winning 4-0 against Parma.”
“The match can’t end 2-2,” he continued.
“That’s where you start to think: Why is the match getting out of hand at a certain point?”
Marchegiani argued that “it’s not just a matter of substitutions.”
“But also of focus, mentality, and game management,” continued the former keeper.
“Until the sixtieth minute no one thought that Parma could equalize. Everything was under control.”
“Then, maybe you take a player off, to give him a breather,” Marchegiani noted. “And you find yourself slipping into that situation.”
Meanwhile, Marchegiani also gave his thoughts ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Bayern Munich.
“Bayern are strong,” he said. “They have quality players.”
“But they also have their ups and downs. Inter, with the characteristics that they have, can cause serious problems them from a tactical point of view.”
Marchegiani argued that Inter “have everything to compete” against Bayern.
