Inter Milan center-back Benjamin Pavard expects Bayern Munich to give his team a run for their money in tonight’s heavyweight fixture.
Speaking to Prime via FCInterNews, the French star hailed the Bavarians’ strength but reminded everyone of Inter’s quality.
Benjamin Pavard, who swapped Munich for San Siro in 2023, returned to his old stomping ground as a foe last week.
However, it was a triumphant return for the 29-year-old as Inter stunned Vincent Kompany’s side 2-1 at the Allianz Stadium.
Potentially 90 minutes away from reaching the Champions League semi-finals, the Nerazzurri must see the job through on home turf.
Like last Tuesday, Pavard will be part of Simone Inzaghi’s backline as they bid to shut out one of Europe’s fiercest frontlines.
Although Inter failed to keep a clean sheet in Munich, they did an incredible job keeping Harry Kane at bay.
Hopefully, they can replicate the same defensive resilience tonight.
Inter Milan Star Benjamin Pavard Expects ‘Tough Game’ vs Bayern Munich

If there’s anyone competent to speak about Bayern’s quality, it’s Pavard.
Indeed, the Frenchman won 11 major titles during his four-year stint at the Allianz Arena.
However, his start to life at Inter has been equally impressive as he lifted the Scudetto in his first year at Giuseppe Meazza.
“It will be tough as always against Bayern Munich, they have great players,” Pavard stated.
“But we’re also a great team, and we’ll need to stay very focused because it’s going to be very complicated.”
Then, he explained Inter’s preparations for this mouth-watering showdown.
“In the first half of the first leg, we gave away a few chances,” Pavard added.
“Today, we need to stay alert and defend really well to avoid conceding.
“At the same time, we have to try and score.”
Scoring should not be a problem for Inter, especially after talismanic striker Lautaro Martinez returned to form.
