Henrikh Mkhitaryan has won praise for his absolutely tireless display for Inter Milan in yesterday’s 2-2 Champions League draw with Bayern Munich.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, hail the 36-year-old. In spite of his age, he showed zero signs of slowing down or running out of energy.
It was always going to be a tough midfield battle for Inter Milan against Bayern Muinich.
The Bavarians started with the very physical duo of Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich in holding midfield.
Then, the Bayern fullbacks also looked to push up into midfield, and the attacking players were very aggressive.
Inter needed bags of energy and effort from their midfielders to keep their heads above water.
And there was one Nerazzurri player in particular who stood out in this regard.
Mkhitaryan Praised For Tireless Display In Inter Milan 2-2 Bayern Munich Thriller

Former Roma, Arsenal, and Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan may be 36 years of age.
And perhaps this season the Armenian has finally started to show one or two signs that he can’t keep up the level he’s been at since he joined Inter forever.
But yesterday evening was not one of them.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan never stopped running, keeping up with the physical Bayern midfield and gluing together Inter’s shape.
And on the ball, the 36-year-old offered his usual technical polish. He was a key link in the chain down Inter’s left flank when they ventured forward, and kept hold of the ball well.
Who the hell writes this stuff?! And what game were they watching?!
He ran all game yes, but he constantly gave the ball away in dangerous areas and just under hit pass after pass leading to breaks going back the other way.
Can’t fault his effort and fitness for his age but saying he played well is pretty laughable.
You seem to understand very little about football. Unless a player scores a goal or is involved in a direct assist, you guys think they didn’t play well.
Obviously the coach, the management, the fans and the media doesn’t agree with you. But hey, you know better than them.
Paulo, you look like a great football expert. Keep up. When reading your comment i feel that all pundits that gave him the second highest grade for this game understand nothing. Or maybe you have something personal in your comment
