Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is expecting Denzel Dumfries, Piotr Zielinski, and Marcus Thuram to return from injury soon.
The Nerazzurri coach spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. He also gave his thoughts on this evening’s Serie A clash with Bologna.
Inter Milan are without three players in total for this evening’s match against Bologna.
Wingback Denzel Dumfries and midfielder Piotr Zielinski have both been out since the international break.
Dumfries is suffering from a thigh strain, having had a run of starts prior to the break. Meanwhile, Zielinski has been recovering from a persistent calf problem picked up in a Serie A clash with Monza.
Furthermore, Marcus Thuram joined the injury list yesterday.
The Frenchman played all ninety minutes of Inter’s Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
That effort took its toll on Marcus Thuram, however. He has suffered some muscular fatigue in his left thigh.
Inzaghi Expecting Dumfries, Zielinski & Thuram Back Soon

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi explained that “We’re expecting Zielinski and Dumfries back as soon as possible.”
“And Thuram I don’t think will be out for long,” he added.
“[Dumfries and Zielinski] had some major injury problems,” the Nerazzurri coach noted. “Those have gone on for a while.”
“But they’re recovering. Next week they should be back with us and ready to play.”

Then, Inzaghi noted that “Thuram has had some muscular fatigue.”
“That ruled him out today. And Wednesday [against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia] is too early, I think.”
“But we’re expecting to have all three of them back,” Inzaghi said.
Meanwhile, Inzaghi said that Inter have “the right enthusiasm” against Bologna.
“We’re up against a great team in top form. They’re well-coached, and they’ve only lost at home against Bologna when they were down to ten men.”
“We’ll need to play together like a top team,” the Inter coach stressed.
Inzaghi On Lack Of Squad Rotation: “Tried To Change As Little As Possible”

Then, Inzaghi also explained why he only made two changes to the starting eleven from the team that faced Bayern Munich in midweek.
“I made my choices,” the Inter coach said. “As always.”
“I tried to understand the kind of match that we’re playing.”
Inzaghi admitted that “I tried to change as little as possible.”
“I have maximum confidence in the players who start,” he added.
Then, Inzaghi made clear how important today’s match against Bologna is. He agreed with Nerazzurri President Beppe Marotta.
Inzaghi remarked to DAZN, via FCInterNews, that “All matches are important.”
“Our President said so correctly [how Bologna match is the most important of the year].”
“I agree with him,” Inzaghi said. “But at the same time I have to think a lot about all the matches we have coming up.
“Our focus is on Bologna,” Inzaghi made clear.
“We have to be aggressive and determined because we are up against a team that is in excellent form. A team with an excellent principle of how to play.”
It will be over if you keep bringing on Bisseck.
It’s crazy to think that they analyse every match and still think. The guy is appropriate when inter defends deep. He is consistently terrible in those situations just clumsy. When inter have possession he can offer something but when inter defends he becomes a huge liability. How many times he was subbed out during final stages of the match and how many times inter conceded simply because he was left in to play those final minutes. His downsides is starting to outweigh his advantage when inter attacks. If he actually keeps playing Inter will 100% lose the scudetto. It’s tough to find a more negative player than Correa but it seems there is one and his name is Bisseck.
sadly you are correct in every point. i wish bisseck the best but hes not helping himself.
at first glance i saw lautaro leaving thinking hes subbing him on to play as st. i was less worried when i thought that he’s not going to be defending.
in any case i feel inzaghis mistake yesterday had nothing to do with the subs, its not like he has the options.
his mistake was that he wanted to sit back and invite preassure going for 0 0.
What can be expected, Inter compete in 3 competitions with a mediocre reserve squad. Especially in the front line and midfield.
