Tanner Tessman could return to Serie A after just one year to replace Inter Milan-linked star Samuele Ricci at Torino.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, Paolo Vanoli’s men have earmarked the ex-Venezia ace as a concrete target.

Before joining Lyon last summer, Tanner Tessman had drawn inquiries from Inter.

However, negotiations with Venezia collapsed at the 11th hour, paving the way for the 23-year-old’s switch to Ligue 1.

Fast forward one year, Tessman could swap France for Serie A.

Samuele Ricci will leave Turin this summer, with Torino expected to earn around €40 million from his departure.

Meanwhile, Inter and Napoli have joined AC Milan in the race to sign the former Napoli star.

Replacing a player of Ricci’s quality won’t be easy, yet Vanoli believes Tessman has the potential to fill the void.

Despite joining Lyon with high expectations, the USMNT midfield has failed to settle at the Groupama Stadium.

Though he has tallied 21 appearances, most have come off the bench.
