Denzel Dumfries and Piotr Zielinski are back in full training for Inter Milan ahead of Sunday’s Serie A clash with Roma.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They also report that Marcus Thuram is still not yet back in training.
Inter Milan have been without a few key players in recent matches.
Striker Marcus Thuram has missed the last two matches after suffering some muscular fatigue in last week’s Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, wingback Denzel Dumfries and midfielder Piotr Zielinski have been out with longer. They’ve been absent for more than a month with strains to their thigh and calf respectively.
And Inter have really missed these players. Particularly across the last couple matches.
Inter lost to Bologna in Serie A and AC Milan in the Coppa Italia in their two most recent matches.
These fixtures really put the squad depth to the test.
The likes of Mehdi Taremi and Joaquin Correa have not convinced in place of Thuram. Meanwhile, veterans Matteo Darmian and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have had to put in overtime.
Dumfries & Zielinski Back In Training For Inter Milan

According to Sky Sport Italia, however, Inter will be able to count on two of the three injured players in their next match.
Wingback Denzel Dumfries and midfielder Piotr ZIelinski are both back in full training.
Therefore, reports Sky, there is no doubt about the pair’s availability.
Both Dumfries and Zielinski will be in the squad this weekend.
Inter host Roma in Serie A on Sunday, with the match having been postponed from Saturday due to the funeral of Pope Francis.
Thuram Not Back Yet – Targeting Barcelona Clash

The news is a bit less positive regarding striker Marcus Thuram.
Sky Sport Italia report that the 27-year-old still has not returned to full training.
Therefore, Sky anticipate, Thuram will not play any part in Sunday’s match against Roma.
Rather, the broadcaster report, Thuram is targeting a return for the following match.
And that will be a massive one. Inter take on Barcelona in the first leg of a Champions League semifinal tie.
