Inter Milan will sign another midfielder if Kristjan Asllani leaves this summer, as they don’t see Petar Sucic as a direct replacement.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908.
It is looking increasingly likely that midfielder Kristjan Asllani will leave Inter Milan at the end of this season.
The Albanian international has simply not convinced the Nerazzurri that he can have a role in holding midfield.
Therefore, the Gazzetta report, Inter will look to offload Asllani this summer.
There would be a possibility that Inter could loan Asllani out rather than selling him outright. Regular playing time at a different club could see improvements from the former Empoli midfielder.
However, one thing that’s clear is that Inter want a different player as a backup to Hakan Calhanoglu next season.
Inter Milan To Sign Another Midfielder If Kristjan Asllani Leaves – Sucic Not A Direct Replacement

At the same time, Inter have already completed a deal to sign midfelder Petar Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb.
The Croatian international will join the Nerazzurri’s squad at the end of the season. Starting with the Club World Cup this summer.
However, reports the Gazzetta, that does not mean that Sucic will be the player who directly replaces Asllani.
Rather, Inter see Sucic as more of a versatile squad player in midfield.
Therefore, if Asllani is to be on his way out, then inter will sign another holding midfielder.
we neeed a workhorse like Ederson to play alongside Barella, and move away from deep lying midfielder to attacking midfielder like Nico Paz, our formation is no longer effective, Milan shows how they exposed us by placing their wide attacking players in pockets behind Barella and Mikhi than going wide like they used to, once they got the ball they run from the middle with pace, Hakan or Asllani struggle to cover the space and we see how many times Leao runs free and go one on one with Bisseck, in the past Dumfries will keep him outside and we never had problem, and during attacking transition we are just to slow to capitalize
Haven’t seen Paz involved in defense much yet. Ederson is a beast, but rumor says he is going to Saudi Arabia.
Our struggle against Juve Milan shows we need a variation to our base formation, now they have players with pace that can hurt us from a counter, but Atalanta who plays 3412 had very comfortable wins against them
Mentally he’s weak. Must be replaced
It’s crazy like how everyone can see this except Inzaghi. Frattessi is much better because the guy is hungry for goals and he gets them. Asllani is only focused on making the next safe pass and not make a mistake leaving the responsibility to any one other than him. While Barella and Hakan seeks the ball to distribute where it’s needed. He’s 100% mentally weak and it’s been years hoping he will improve
I’d play fratessi as a striker ngl. his only problem is lack of build up abilities.
however the man makes wonderful runs inside the box. I dont think fratessi should be sold. he got a lot of room to improve
The reason why Asllani plays is because he’s the only player that is “suitable” to replace Hakan. Before Zielinski got injured, he was replacing Hakan and Asllani was barely getting any playing time. I doubt that Fratessi could play that role considering how his level dropped this season compared to last and the fact that he’s much more attack-minded.
That said, Barella might be able to cover Hakan (and has done so in the past). Maybe a better option would be to play Barella in Hakan’s position and Fratessi in Barella’s position. However, this would still leave players exhausted since Barella and Hakan are starters.
bring back Sergei Milinkovic Savic. A top class player to replace Mkhitarian and make the midfield great.
