Iran national team striker Mehdi Taremi wants to stay at Inter Milan despite the disappointment of his first season at the club.

This according to Iranian football journalist Hatam Shiralizadeh. He reports in a tweet that Taremi’s stance hasn’t changed, and he doesn’t want a summer departure.

Striker Mehdi Taremi only joined Inter Milan last summer. He arrived on a free transfer from Porto.

However, already there is a feeling of things having gone off the rails for Taremi.

The Iranian had arrived with big expectations. He had scored prolifically and established himself as a Champions League-level player with Porto.

However, Taremi has scored just three goals for Inter all season.

The 32-year-old’s mediocre display against AC Milan on Wednesday was just the latest in a sequence of underwhelming performances.

Because of his Taremi’s poor form this season, Inter reportedly want to offload the Iranian international ready.

The Nerazzurri could still cash in for a profit, considering that they signed Taremi without a transfer fee.

However, there would also be the desire of the player himself to consider.

And according to Iranian football reporter Hatam Shiralizdeh, Mehdi Taremi does not want to leave.

The 32-year-old is still determined to stay another season at Inter and make more of an impact.
