Carlos Augusto admits that Inter Milan are “tired” after their Serie A loss against Roma, but that it can’t be an “excuse.”
The Brazilian spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, after the disappointing 0-1 loss.
Inter Milan fell to their third straight defeat in all competitions this afternoon against Roma.
And once again, it was not quite the same kind of performance that the Nerazzurri had been put in just a few weeks ago.
In the first half, Inter were not intense or compact enough to contain the Roma attack. There was little doubt that the Giallorossi looked the sharper of the two sides.
Then in the second half, Inter pushed hard for an equalizer.
However, the Nerazzurri lacked the cutting edge to create the one decisive chance as Roma dug in and protected their penalty well.
Carlos Augusto Admits Inter Milan “Tired” After Serie A Loss Vs Roma

After this evening’s match, Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto admitted that “clearly we’re tired.”
“Both physically and mentally.”
“But I don’t want to look for excuses,” Augusto added. “They have a great team, they scored early, and you know how when you’re behind you have to spend more energy to equalize.”
Now, Augusto said that “we have to see what we did wrong.”
“And we have to recharge our batteries. Because in two days’ time, on Wednesday, we have a very important match.”
Meanwhile, Carlos Augusto said that Inter have “an experienced group.”
But Roma “did well, they closed up shop defensively.”
“Clearly sometimes even if you’re physically tired, you need to have the energy to win the match,” Augusto went on.
“Today we gave everything to win it. But sometimes it doesn’t happen.”
“They created a chance and then scored,” Augusto said. “And then chasing it is tough.”
“But that’s it.”
Owners should be the first to blame, they didnt invest, Taremi and Correa combined scoring 2 goals only but nothing were done during winter window, it shows how ambitious this ownership are. But still they want the treble without investing anything? What a joke.
Next, Inzaghi and the management should also be blamed too. They must know well that the team is tired and the bench are mediocre, instead of adjusting the target midway by concentrating on one or two trophies only, now they are more than probable to loss all three in only one week’s time.
