Giallorossi coach Claudio Ranieri will switch to a 3-5-2 formation in today’s Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Roma.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They also report that Artem Dovbyk is the favourite to start in attack.
One thing that has remained fairly consistent since Claudio Ranieri took the helm at Roma in November is a back three system.
The veteran coach has adapted the formation to suit the players at his disposal.
The Giallorossi’s centre-backs have looked more comfortable defending in that system. Meanwhile, the likes of Angelino and Alexis Saelemakers have really flourished as wingbacks.

However, Ranieri has tinkered with things in front of the back three fairly frequently.
The most common formation that the Roma coach has used has been a 3-4-2-1 system.
This has allowed Ranieri to make use of the numerous attacking midfield options at his disposal.
However, reports the Gazzetta, this evening against Inter Ranieri will play three out-and-out central midfielders.
That means that all of Leandro Paredes, Manu Kone, and Bryan Cristante will start for the Giallorossi.
Meanwhile, in attack the Gazzetta report that Ukrainian international Artem Dovbyk is the favourite to start. He is ahead of Eldor Shomurodov.
