Piotr Zielinski has received some criticism for a performance that was “disappointing” and “ineffective” for Inter Milan against Hellas Verona.
As TuttoMercatoWeb highlight, the player ratings for the match gave the Polish international some stick for never really showing his qualities or getting out of second gear.
Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zielinski got his chance in the starting eleven yesterday.
The Polish international was one of a whopping ten changes to the lineup that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi made for the Serie A clash against Hellas Verona.
It was very clear that Inzaghi wanted to keep the key starters fresh in view of Tuesday’s Champions League semifinal second leg against Barcelona.
Accordingly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan got a rest. Piotr Zielinski started in his place.
Piotr Zielinski Criticized For “Disappointing” & “Ineffective” Performance For Inter Milan Vs Hellas Verona

It was not exactly a bad performance from Zielinski against Verona.
But nor was it a particularly good one from the Polish international.
There is certainly no denying Zielinski’s technical quality. Nor his ability to have a decisive impact on matches.
However, Zielinski played it safe with his passing. And he provided little in the final third.
Inter’s performance as a whole looked a bit sluggish.
And Zielinski certainly had his share of responsibility for that.
