This is the INTERViews podcast, the official SempreInter.com podcast, discussing all things Nerazzurri, today focusing on Inter Milan 4-3 Barcelona leg 2 semifinal Champions League clash.
Firstly, in today’s episode on SempreInter.com, Gianmarco and Alessandro discuss, analyze and debate all aspects of the 4-3 win.
Inter fielded their strongest lineup. Therefore, Lautaro Martinez and Nicolo Barella both started. Everyone expected Barcelona to start on the front foot. That is, putting pressure on Inter.
Therefore, it was impressive when Lautaro Martinez broke the deadlock after 21 minutes. Dimarco won the ball high up really well. The assist by Denzel Dumfries was smart.
Lautaro won a penalty for Inter just before the end of the first half. Cubarsi didn’t get the ball but only Lautaro. Hakan Calhanoglu doubled the lead from the spot. The half ended 2-0.
Inter Milan 4-3 Barcelona – INTERViews Podcast Ep. 144: “Greatest Champions League Semifinal Ever”

However, Inter continued to defend in the second half. They just didn’t do it too well. They defended way too deep. Allowing Barcelona to dominate inside Inter’s box.
This is how Eric Garcia and Dani Olmo halved and equalized within six minutes, from 54th minute to the 60th minute.
Barcelona continued to create chances and dominate possession. Inter looked exhausted.
Subsequently, Raphinha gave Barcelona the lead for the first time in the tie in the 87th minute. Inter looked dead and buried.
However, then Francesco Acerbi stepped up. The Italian veteran defender latched on to a Denzel Dumfries cross and smashed it into the roof of the net in the 93rd minute.
The match ends 3-3 after 90 minutes. For the second week in a row. The match goes into extra time.

Inter is the favorite because we have more experience and we have more players who can change the score.
A few weeks ago that idiot Bruno said inter can always win the Scudetto next time now he is regretting that and wants inter to win the Scudetto because he knows PSG with Enrique who already won the CL will beat inter 3-0. PSG have three weeks to figure out inter since they already won their league not to mention Conte will pass all the tricks to Hakimi to beat inter. I guess just like Arsenal trophyless. I wish arsenal would have won
seeing how psg plays (if they go to final), we can be burningly lost if we cannot manage. kind of similar to how milan or bologna played-when we were badly hurt against them-the final we cannot do recklessly, bcos psg can hurt enough with their counters
The guys are playing much better in the UCL than in Serie A. They did beat Barca and BM, so beating PSG too is possible. Chances are 50:50, no favourites.
I agree. I don’t see Inter as favorites even after beating Bayern and Barca. This match will be as tough as those four matches. I just hope they don’t play nervously as they did in the first half of the first game against Barcelona where everybody (especially the defense) was getting overwhelmed and misplacing simple passes. I’m thankful that we don’t have to play Coppa Italia final and hopefully all starters ger enough rest and are 100% fit for the final. The team has been looking exhausted since beating Bayern.
If need be, Inzaghi should make heavy rotation in the three remaining games in Serie A. The starters should be well-rested for the final. I could not care less about the Serie A. One Scudetto more or less does not make any big difference. The UCL is the ultimate trophy.
100% agree. It sucks that we’re no longer in the drivers seat for Scudetto, but a CL is much more important. Last time around, we had a relatively easy route to the final and faced a huge test against City. We did okay and had chances to at least tie the game. This time, we have proven that we’re ready to win it by beating two top contenders. Not only that, we didn’t lose a single game against Barca or Bayern. We have to focus all of our energy on this final now.
Indeed, it is the way we handled Barca and BM that gives reason to believe in a win. After beating Barca, I am full of trust the guys can bring the biggest of all trophies home. They just need to play their best game for a last time this season.
PSG is doing a great counter attack with Hakimi and Kvara in the wing. They also have a great attacking with Dembele. Donna is also great. Its gonna be tough final. Barca is great in attacking, but average in depending, so it will be different vs PSG. So I guess the score is gonna be tough. 2-1 or 1-0 is more than enough.
