Simone Inzaghi says that a formation change is a possibility in today’s Serie A clash between Torino and Inter Milan.
The Nerazzurri coach spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia ahead of the match, via FCInterNews. He admitted that the team could play in more of a 3-4-3 shape.
Inter Milan take on Torino in Serie A this evening.
The match comes just a few days after the Nerazzurri’s dramatic Champions League semifinal second leg win over Barcelona.
That match went the distance, with Inter needing extra time to win 4-3. That meant that several players in the Inter squad were on the pitch for a full two hours.
Therefore, it is not too surprising that Inzaghi has felt the need to rest and rotate in this evening’s match against Torino.
And with the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Davide Frattesi unavailable due to injury, the Inter coach has started Nicola Zalewski in midfield.

Asked if Zalewski’s inclusion as a central midfielder could mean a shift to a 3-4-3 shape, Inter coach said that “it could.”
“He could play as a box-to-box midfielder when the holding midfielder drops deep,” he continued.
“We have our principles,” said Inzaghi. “But we know we don’t have other players ready to play from the start in that area of the pitch.”
Inzaghi said that Zalewski “will go up high, and play near the strikers.”
“He’s a player of great quality. And he’ll play a great match.”
Then, Inzaghi spoke about Inter’s Champions League triumph over Barcelona in midweek. “We’re all very satisfied at having given the fans a feeling like that,” he said.
However, the Inter coach cautioned that “now we have one last step to take.”
“The most important one,” he added.
Inzaghi declared that “matches like Tuesday’s our beautiful to give to our fans.”
And of the Serie A title race, the Nerazzurri coach admitted that “it’s not in our hands.”
“But we’ll still do everything,” he added.
“We’ve left out some players who had some serious injury problems,” Inzaghi noted. “Then there are others who are here but can’t play the full ninety.”
“But we’ll play a great match,” the Inter coach insisted.
