Simone Inzaghi is counting on Lautaro Martinez’s return after Inter Milan’s Serie A title bottle job against Lazio.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan had a deeply frustrating and disappointing evening in Serie A yesterday.
The Nerazzurri had been counting on Parma to take points off of Napoli. And that is exactly what the Emilian team did, grinding out a 0-0 draw against the league leaders.
However, Inter were unable to take advantage. They twice had the lead against Lazio, and twice gave it up.
Inzaghi Counting On Lautaro Return After Inter Serie A Title Bottle Job Vs Lazio

Obviously, a big part of the problem for Inter was carelessness in defense.
After all, the Nerazzurri did concede two equalizers.
However, there was a feeling that Inter should have done more to simply put the match out of reach for Lazio, who never really had reason to lose hope of getting a result.
Part of the problem was that Inter captain Lautaro Martinez was not on the pitch.
Without the Argentine, there is simply a lack of a reliable goalscoring outlet in the Inter lineup.
Marcus Thuram was not at his best, while Mehdi Taremi had little impact in the penalty area.
Then, substitute Marko Arnautovic spurned an absolutely glorious chance to win the match late on.
Therefore, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will certainly be counting on the return of his captain Lautaro Martinez.
i mean, inza, dude, did you evaluate your declining squad after 30 minutes at each half? analyze the error that players can make when their stamina declining? evaluate and analyze which player you should sub at games after 60 minutes? pretty sure you have team that monitor every gestures, signs, i mean, you have stats, at least analyze that data.
not everyone here can understand about the team, but at least what we were afraid of, mostly happened because of the errors that you could and should avoid.
Inzaghi made the mistake of using same tired legs that made us to lose the scudetto battle again yesterday when we should have used some of the fresher bench players that got us back in the race in the last two games
At this point just rest Lautaro and not risk him getting injured after seeing how Taremi, Correa and Arna plays then it means Thuram and Lautaro are our only hope when it comes to winning the CL. Inter can win against Como even without the two strikers all the coach has to do is not play Bisseck because even if Inter wins Napoli can also win their much easier much. The only hope is that Napoli will be playing with so much pressure and might fail to win as they did against weaker sides all season long. When it reaches that point both Lautaro and Thuram can be used. People need to remember Napoli didn’t compete in any other competition while sides like Fiorentina and Bologna had more commitments so even this match with minimal rest will throw them off however risking a much important trophy like the CL is just stupid so Lautaro should at least sit it out
Wouldn’t bother – just give him 20-25 mins, that goes for Bastoni, acerbi, barella & cahanoglu too
And NEVER play Bisseck ffs, play darmian or de vrij instead.
We need EVERYBODY at 100% to have any chance against PSG.
Next season Inter needs to move on from 3-5-2. Just one striker, 3-4-3 like vs Torino should be evaluated in the summer. Lautaro and Thuram can rotate with each other.
3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1 probably more precisely.
