Inter Milan would not have been most pundits’ favourites to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy come the end of the 2024/25 season.
Nevertheless, Simone Inzaghi’s team has been the most consistent outfit in the expanded competition and it would take a brave individual to bet against the San Siro side now taking that final step towards picking up the Nerrazurri’s fourth ever title in the competition.
Inzaghi’s side eased to a Serie A title in 2023/24, and it feels as if that has led to Inter putting even more of an onus on succeeding in Europe.
The manner in which they romped to the top of the league phase of UEFA’s showpiece tournament was proof enough of their calibre, with the team conceding just one goal in their eight games, before getting past Feyenoord, Bayern Munich, and FC Barcelona to book their place in the final against PSG in Munich.
Inter Milan Enjoyed Fantastic UCL Campaign
It is worth noting that the only goal they did concede in the league phase, came in the 90th minute of a narrow loss to Bayer Leverkusen, and in the knockout phase Inzaghi chose to adopt a more attacking approach, one that saw them rack up 15 goals in six matches, with Davide Frattesi’s extra-time winner securing a memorable 4-3 win over Barca in the semi-finals.
Inter Milan fans who want to bet on their team to complete a title success should use this BetMGM promo to make any such wager even more enticing. A bet on Inter is certainly a worthwhile endeavour, even though most betting providers see PSG as the team most likely to succeed in Bavaria.
On completing their against-the-odds victory over FC Barcelona, Inzaghi commented on the gap in resources that his side finds themselves in when compared to Europe’s elite, while also lauding his team with praise following their 7-6 aggregate success.
“I watched it again in the evening. I was curious to watch the match from above.”
“We played a great match against opposition of the highest quality. We did well. Even the players who came off the bench gave us a big hand.
“That’s the only way that you can fight for things like the Champions League,” said the Inter coach. They say that Inter defend deep.”
“But we know that we don’t have the budget of teams like PSG, Barcelona, or Bayern Munich. But we know that with heart and organization, we want to do better than them.”
“We may not be the strongest team.”
“But with that heart, we can compete with anyone.” The 51-year-old Inter Milan boss concluded.
Inter Milan Eager To Pit PSG In Champions League Final
It’s that team ethic that helped Inter past the best teams around, and they have just one hurdle left to clear, albeit a very tricky one. PSG won their domestic title some weeks ago, and this means that Luis Enrique has been able to rest some of his star performers, a luxury Inzaghi has not been able to enjoy.
Indeed, Inter Milan’s push for the Serie A title with Napoli will go all the way down to the wire, and whatever transpires, his players will then need to regroup for the big finale to the 2024/25 season.
