Inter Milan have asked their new coach Cristian Chivu for three key things in his first season in charge of the team.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that the Nerazzurri report that the Nerazzurri want a return to winning ways, a mental recovery, and a greater focus on youth.
Inter Milan are on the verge of appointing Cristian Chivu as their new coach. The 44-year-old will reportedly terminate his contract with Parma tomorrow, and then take the reins from Simone Inzaghi.
Chivu is not a coach with much senior experience: just thirteen matches at Parma.
However, beyond his work at the Gialloblu, Inter trust Chivu on the basis of his time coaching their youth ranks.
Inter Milan Ask Cristian Chivu For Three Things

And according to the Corriere dello Sport, there are three things Inter have asked from Chivu.
Naturally, the first would be a return to winning trophies.
Last season, Inter were in the hunt for major silverware right until the end of the season. However, they faltered at the last hurdle and ended the campaign empty-handed.
Therefore, next time out, Inter expect to end the season with something fresh in their trophy cabinet.
Meanwhile, the Corriere dello Sport notes, Inter will have to bounce back from an absolutely devastating end to last season.
The Nerazzurri suffered a shocking 5-0 defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. And that came just a week after they narrowly lost out on the Serie A title.
That end to the campaign has clearly mentally devastated Inter. Therefore, the club want Chivu to change the atmosphere and get the team back on track mentally.
Lastly, the Corrirere report, Inter expect more of a focus on youth from Chivu.
The Romanian worked with Inter’s youth teams for several years. Therefore, he was a logical choice to shift the core of the project from veterans to younger players.
we won’t be competing to get the best young players. All the BIG teams already do that, buying up kids. We will get the scraps. That generally won’t make a European winning team. Taking disgruntled experienced players that have been undervalued by bigger clubs is how you build a mentally tough team to win comps ala 2010 Inter.
why inzaghi left without a transfer fee?? was his contract with us over ???
as much as I wanted Inzaghi to stay, I think it was the right time to let him go. the team managed to get all that they possibly could from him, I do not think he could have made the team any better. Simone as a player did not win much, chivu as a player did!! hopefully chivu will teach us how to take back trophies! forza chivu, Forza inter!!
I think the demands are fair. The winning clubs are doing it with youngstors…its just because at Inter playing youngstors is a NEW culture for many new supporters!
hiring a coach with no major experience and reference and asking him to win trophies is absurd
guardiola when he started at Barca, Cunte when he started at merdentus, anyone else did not start with a cabinet full of trophies.. they come with experience. that being said chivu has already won us trophies on a youth scale. see the results he has had with Parma.. see the big scalps he has taken! including the 2 points of us, which may have cost us the scudetto. don’t overlook someone without allowing them time to show us their worth.
If he manages to pull off everything they’re asking of him, with all of these circumstances, then he would be greatest coach of all time.I don’t recall any coach achieving this in their first year.
So they are expecting him to win while developing youth players at the same time in this first season, let alone its his first full season at a professional level.
They better be spending big on this transfer if they want that to happen.
yeah they are asking the impossible things with that specific salary. laughable if i must say.
