Inter Milan have identified Giovanni Leoni as a main candidate to replace Francesco Acerbi and Yann Bisseck if they leave this summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan are likely to be making big changes in defense this summer.
The Nerazzurri could certainly lose Francesco Acerbi this summer. The Gazzetta report that the veteran Italian international’s future is very much in the balance.
Acerbi turns 38 next summer. Therefore, even though he has one year left to go on his contract with Inter, there is certainly no guarantee of his sticking around.
Meanwhile, Yann Bisseck is in the sights of clubs in the Premier League. The likes of Manchester United and West Ham United are reportedly interested in the 24-year-old.
Therefore, Inter will be listening to offers for Bisseck this summer.
Inter Milan Line Up Giovanni Leoni As Replacement For Acerbi & Bisseck

With these changes potentially on the horizon, Inter are searching for defensive reinforcements.
And according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, one name above all has risen to the top of Inter’s list.
The Nerazzurri have identified 18-year-old Parma defender Giovanni Leoni as their top target in defense.
The Nerazzurri had already tried to sign the Italian from Sampdoria last summer. However, Parma beat them to the punch.
Leoni enjoyed a stellar first season in Serie A last term.
And this has fully convinced Inter that, even though he is still only a teenager, Leoni has the maturity to play in their defense. Particularly after he proved he can play in a back three.
Therefore, the Gazzetta report, Leoni is the player Inter intend to move for as they look to fill vacancies in their backline.
It will be a verrrrry bad mistake if Inter sells Bisek, give this guy one more season and he will be irriplaceable
if he’s only worth 20m we should get him asap, that’s a great deal.
One player to replace two players? This is Inter’s transfer approach? Another thing, however good and promising, this guy is still very young and lacks experience. The defensive backbone, and especially the one of Inter which fancies defensive football, must consist of well established and experienced players. As simple as that.
Masquera and Tchotchua are also coming
This would be a great signing- the only worry is that, as per usual, we seem to be dragging it out, which gives other clubs chance to swoop in!! This deal shouldn’t be a complicated one to get done! Parma have set their price, the player would gladly come to Inter, especially with Chivu in charge, so why the delay? he should be with us well in time for the club World Cup, and be getting himself familiar with his new team…. Let’s not mess this up please!!!!!
