Maurizio Sarri wants Bologna midfielder Giovanni Fabbian at Lazio, but Inter Milan have a buyback option on the Italy Under-21 international.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan sold midfielder Giovanni Fabbian to Bologna in the summer of 2023.
The Italy Under-21 international did not just join the Emilian club on loan. Rather, Inter sold him outright.
However, the Nerazzurri do retain control over Fabbian’s future. There is a €12 million buyback clause in the deal that saw the 22-year-old join Bologna.

Now, the question is whether Inter will bring Fabbian back this summer.
There is certainly a possibility that the 22-year-old could have more of a future at the Nerazzurri under new coach Cristian Chivu. By all accounts, the Romanian is ready to focus on youth.
But on the other hand, reports the Corriere dello Sport, Lazio could also aim to sign Fabbian.
As the newspaper note, the Biancocelesti already had an offer for Fabbian turned down in January.
And the Corriere anticipate that re-appointed Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is keen to reignite that pursuit.
In the meantime, Giovannian Fabbian us currently busy at the Under-21 Euros. He is one of Italy’s star men at that tournament.
However, reports the Corriere, Lazio are very much keen on entering the scene.
