Teenage striker Francesco Pio Esposito will start for Inter Milan in their Club World Cup group stage clash with Urawa Red Diamonds.
This according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito is part of the Nerazzurri squad for the Club World Cup.
The 19-year-old travelled with the Inter squad to the United States for the tournament. This came after the end of his season on loan with Spezia.
Pio Esposito missed out on Inter’s group stage opener against Monterrey on Wednesday. This was due to a knee injury.
However, reports the Gazzetta, Pio Esposito has been training with the group today. Therefore, he should be ready to return to the pitch from his injury.
Report – Francesco Pio Esposito To Start For Inter Vs Urawa Reds

According to the Gazzetta, Francesco Pio Esposito will come straight into the inter starting eleven for their next match.
The Nerazzurri face Urawa Red Diamonds in their second group stage match on Saturday.
Pio Esposito’s brother Sebastiano Esposito had started against Monterrey. But it will be Pio Esposito’s turn this weekend.
Marcus Thuram is still struggling with a muscle problem, reports the Gazzetta.
Meanwhile, the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu, Davide Frattesi, and Denzel Dumfries should all be ready to return for Inter’s last group stage match against River Plate, reports the Gazzetta.
Meanwhile, Yann Bisseck and Piotr Zielinski can return for the round of sixteen, should Inter qualify,
Meanwhile Milan is “strongly linked” with Granit Xhaka… Lots of experience… LOL…
And that’s why they aren’t even playing European football next season. Now, that is a daft management. And I’m not saying that since I’m an Inter fan. Milan had everything to keep building on their success but fumbled it by making terrible transfers and changing management constantly.
We will see whether this will happen….
I like the berenbruch boy as well. I hope they can shine up front. hope chivu makes it click
I think he’ll have a great game if he starts
Where are all the football experts calling Serie A a week league since Inter couldn’t beat Monterrey now that Botafogo beat PSG? According to these dumbasses, The Brazilian league must be better than the French League. Hell, South American football must be better than European football since the libertadores champions beat the CL champions, am I getting this right? Will PSG be relegated now that they can’t even beat Botafogo? Is this how things work?
This is football, unexpected things can happen and they often do happen. Only retards jump into conclusions based on one or two games. If you guys followed football for more than 5 years you should know this by now. I bet that most people on this site have been following football for at least a decade, so I don’t understand how some of you can be so fucking dense.
for South American teams 2mln bonus per win are enormous money while for Europeans teams, it is just peanuts
Looking at the highlights PSG played more or less the same team and Botafogo did something that PSG struggle to cope with which was they were physical with them in midfield committing a lot of fouls which PSG didn’t do anything about because it’s not their strongest gameplan. In the final match Inter basically gave up in the midfield and allowed PSG to have everything and do what they want. There was no pressing no fouls no nothing. It was as if players were avoiding yellow cards knowing Inzaghi. would take them off. PSG were visibly over committing in midfield and any ball won there then Inter would be one vs one with both Lautaro and Thuram yet Inter didn’t even attempt to win the ball in midfield. PSG are much weaker to play against compared to Barcelona in my opinion but in that match Inter were not playing a final match but just emotions that started with the coach. I think it’s time for Hakan to go and Inter get a different kind of player instead of a like for like which makes Inter one dimensional when they need a ball winner and grit player like Vidal for example. Barella and Mikhi are not going to commit to a foul or try to win anything in midfield unless they get two other players helping them but sometimes a single player can win possession in midfield and start a counter. Inzaghi was a good coach but decided to taint his time at Inter by letting them be embarrassed and that’s what he will be remembered.
Well, I’ve said this time and time again.. It seems coaches do not “train” the players in serie a cause there is an obvious lack of intensity in serie a as Lahm said… Inter and serie a teams seem to be 2nd best when it comes to 50-50 situations. Another factor is age which I feel is a factor, but not as important as the lack of intensity and that’s why fans here and coaches will say things like “players are tired” or let’s focus on the scudetto alone where other teams desire to win everything… Some come with excuses of depth, as if players in the elite teams do not play most games without getting tired… Ooh well, this comment will be unpopular, but as always I will end by saying… RESULTS NEVER/ HARDLY LIE…
Correa taking revenge against PSG for us from the bench… maybe having him on the bench in the UCL final would have won us the game.. lol
100% agreed, that’s why football is the best sport on the planet, it is unpredictable.
Lol… Dense you say? Analyse inter and serie a holistically and be honest with yourself… No UCL in 15 years, no world cup appearance in the past 8 years, and may not qualify for the next world cup (that’s 12 years) and you say this is dense thinking? I will leave these statements/questions for you to ruminate on….
Yes, dense. There is nuance in every statement you make. “No world cup appearance in the last 8 years” while omitting the Euro 2020 victory. “No CL in 15 years” while omitting the fact that Italian teama have made it to 4 finals within those 15 years and lost against Messi’s Barca’s, Cristiano’s Madrid, Pep’s City, and the best PSG we’ve seen since Qatar took over. 10 years ago, only Juve was standing up and representing Serie A in the big stages. Now, we have Inter making deep runs in CL, Atalanta winning EL last year, Roma making it to the EL final the year before that, Fiorentina making it to 2 straight Conference League finals, and Roma winning the first ever Conference League. Explain to me, how do these things keep happening if Serie A is as weak as you claim it to be. The answer: you are dense and only look at one result to jump to conclusions.
Okay.. Suit yourself..
I’d say the same to you as well.. Ignoring the 5 nil loss, as well as the numerous truths which you copied from me… Like I said… Suit yourself…
Who’s ignoring the 5-0 loss? Losing in an embarrasing manner doesn’t change the fact that Inter knocked out both Bayern and Barcelona by outscoring them and not losing a single game against these teams.
he’s a finisher type isnt he?
i hope we can see another Crespo-Vieri type moment
lauti at first was like them then he dropped a lot and now is getting fat
Had thuram not been injured, Pio wouldnt start. But I hope he will prove everyone wrong.
What are you doing here? I thought you were looking for other teams to support…
🙂
