Simone Inzaghi left Inter Milan to join Al-Hilal earlier this month despite the club’s best effort to keep him at the San Siro.
Interviewed by La Stampa via FCInter1908, the 49-year-old reiterated his love for the Nerazzurri colors after a sudden exit.
To say Inzaghi’s decision to leave Inter for Al-Hilal caught everyone by surprise would be an understatement.
Indeed, the ex-Lazio boss enjoyed vast success in Lombardy, establishing himself as a symbol of a new era at Giuseppe Meazza.
However, Al-Hilal’s monstrous contract proposal saw Simone Inzaghi trade his love for a fat check.
Furthermore, the timing couldn’t have been any worse.
He announced his departure just days after Paris Saint-Germain battered Inter in the Champions League final.
As such, he has quickly gone from one of the most beloved figures to the most polarizing in the club’s recent history.
Needless to say, many fans feel betrayed by the abrupt nature of his exit.
Yet, Inzaghi is now part of Inter’s past as the club embarks on a new cycle under Cristian Chivu.
Simone Inzaghi Responds to Inter Milan Exit Controversy

Inter and Inzaghi are in the United States fighting for FIFA Club World Cup glory.
While the Nerazzurri collected four points from the first two rounds, Al-Hilal have drawn against RB Salzburg and Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Inzaghi addressed the press after a scoreless stalemate against the Austrian outfit.
“I didn’t watch Inter’s matches, but I think my feelings for the Nerazzurri club are clear to everyone,” he said.
“I had four wonderful years and only have good memories of Milan, of Inter, of its fans and the club itself.”
However, he doesn’t question his decision to take the Al-Hilal job for a second.
“Together with these guys, I’ll have some great satisfaction,” he continued.
“Let’s not forget that we’ve only been together for about a week. I’m really satisfied because these guys have played two great matches.
“I’ve just started, I spent a week in Saudi Arabia, now we’ve been in America for ten days, but I’m doing really well.
“It’s a club that wanted me at all costs and is trying to help me both on and off the pitch.
“It’s an experience that, in my opinion, it was the right time to take on.”
no idea why people think he betrayed inter. it’s always the management’s fault since the treble coaches haven’t gotten players they need except for conte. we always rely on alternatives. everytime the owner changes, they always do that instead of investing hard for the team.
for simone, it’s hard to refuse that huge amount of money for anyone. he’s achieved anything for his paper in Europe though he didn’t win many trophies. people only hate him because he didn’t win anything and lost the final in embarrassing way. I can’t completely blame him, the players were tired during the final. people thought we did well against barca, well one man army team destroyed our team with 6 goals while their young players have not enough experience to face quick counter like us and was way easy to exploit than against PSG with mix of young and experienced players
Yeah they are clear you back stabbing slimey piece of shit!!
If you had any respect for the club, players or fans you wouldn’t have made a deal behind everyone’s back and lying about it.
We should move on. Good luck to him.
Lol I’m not mad he’s gone. I’m hoping Chivu will do well, I have faith in him and so should Inter. I just hope we don’t get a coach like Paladino or any of these defensive minded coaches if Inter pull the trigger on Chivu. I know Chivu will be a fantastic coach. Just look at Henrique when he started at Roma and look where he is now. Patience is a virtue
Surely his actions don’t justify his world though. Didn’t do us much favour in terms of transparency ay.
Well I am glad hes gone cause I know winning is important but his football was hard to watch. Slow and no possesion.
I don’t know where you get no possession from but ok.
Look at the possesion percentage against Arsenal, Bayern, Barca and PSG. Its like 20% to 30% at most.
Thats the Only games you watched?
Like watch the games man…
mate what are you on about? the only way for us to beat them was using this TACTIC. we only fell on the last hurdle in CL. and that failure is not entirely sporting related…
inter has played the best football since I remember. I’ve been a fan of inter from 1993 and trust me I’ve seen some baaaad football over that period. no point even mentioning the period before that
Nah man, comparing football from then to now is doesnt really make an argument. Winning is important but we also need to show some good football as sports is also part of entertainment. Also need to utilise young players for the future aswell. Last season we achieve nothing.
