Villarreal decided against purchasing Inter Milan loanee Tajon Buchanan after his loan deal expired at the start of this month.
Per Tuttosport via FCInterNews, there’s still a chance for the Canadian wingback to return to La Ceramica.
Tajon Buchanan joined the Yellow Submarine on a six-month loan in January.
Furthermore, Villarreal paid Inter €1 million to borrow the 26-year-old and included a buyout clause in the region of €13m.
However, after careful examination, they decided not to take it.

However, he only registered four league starts, failing to secure a regular starting berth under Marcelino Garcia Toral.
Therefore, Villarreal will only sign the ex-Club Brugge star on favorable terms.
As for Buchanan, his chances of breaking into Cristian Chivu’s set-up look bleak.
With the arrival of Luis Henrique, it’s hard to imagine Buchanan launching his career at the San Siro now.

I don’t understand the wingbacks we target. They are all wannabe dribblers, suspect defensively, and not physical. Dumfries is successful with us because he is very aggressive and physical. He doesn’t get the ball in the corner and start trying to dribble anyone. He makes runs for second balls and attacks the back post.
Unless we comprehensively change the way we play, we should be targeting physical, aggressive guys with athleticism and stamina.
I like Zalewski but he was useless as a wingback because we don’t support a dribbler out wide. He looks much better in midfield where there are teammates around him.
Another case where we wasted money. Inzaghi wanted him and didnt even give him a proper chance after his recovery. Very similar to Asslani and Frattesi case.
